Backyart is an exhibition series that re-imagines private and public space by celebrating art and performance in the humble backyard.

Our idea is simple, turn gardens into galleries for one night only.

Backyart is a

values-driven organisation;

we believe art should be accessible to everyone

We create unique events in unconventional green spaces, providing opportunities for artists to take creative risks, exhibit new works and reach broader audiences.

Advocating for social and cultural inclusion, we invite people to

re-imagine their private spaces to enhance and connect communities.

We strive to use best environmental practice, with the utmost respect for the traditional owners and ongoing custodians of the land: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
